This story started in 1998, as fan fiction, in a bedroom that smelled like instant coffee and teenage urgency. The characters grew alongside me for twenty-seven years. Somewhere along the way, they stopped being borrowed and became their own people, with their own names, their own city, their own stubbornness.

The Teresa and Taro trilogy is published simultaneously in English and Spanish, because this story was always meant to live in both languages.

Esta historia comenzó en 1998, como fan fiction, en una habitación que olía a café instantáneo y urgencia adolescente. Los personajes crecieron conmigo durante veintisiete años. En algún momento del camino dejaron de ser prestados y se convirtieron en personas propias, con sus propios nombres, su propia ciudad, su propia terquedad.
